Foundation Innovation

A Look Back at 2019

It is hard to believe that Foundation Innovation will be completing our sixteenth year in existence. We do offer amazing guidance and facilitation (of course), but the true reason that FI continues to grow is because of you. The dedication you have for public education through the work of education foundations, school systems, and school boards is making an invaluable difference. Your commitment creates direct impact to our students and educators and together we are influencing the success of public education. Education foundations have become a viable, robust and credible charity of choice for education in many, many communities. The FI team has worked with over 300 education foundations in 14 states to help you build the capacity to attract investors. Yes, investors! Donations to our education foundations correlate to a direct return on that investment which in turn creates repeat investors. Many of our clients are receiving major gifts because of this relationship strategy – engaging donors in your work and outcomes. School boards and superintendents also play a vital role. Not only with the involvement, support and participation with education foundations, but we are seeing a significant number of education foundation board members running for school boards. This is an exciting trend since those individuals are receiving information and learning about the celebrations and deficiencies faced by our school districts. When elected, they are a value to the district and ready to serve every student and every campus. The Foundation Innovation team continues to provide relevant, research based consulting. We thank you for your work, trust in us and all the relationships developed. I can only imagine the continued impact you will have for 2020. Laurie Cromwell, CFRE President, Foundation Innovation
